Scotch & Woodworking

If you know me, you know I like to partake in a little night-cap… of the scotch variety. Do I have some favorite brands, heck yes! I’ve loved Scotch since I was a kid. At family gatherings when I was younger, I was always the one sneaking off with the adults’ scotch glasses to take the last sips! So speaking of sips, let me introduce you to two of my fall favorite scotch drinks…

A Sonic Boom, for those simple and sophisticated days. This one is especially great for people that don’t want a straight scotch – just pour scotch over ice and add equal parts soda and tonic water and throw in a slice of lemon or lime. Easy and refreshing. Another good one is the Maple Sour, so fitting for a Fall day. All you do is pour your scotch, ice and maple syrup into a shaker and give it a good shake – serve and enjoy!

Fall Trip to Scotland

Last month we got to spend some time in Scotland – it was an incredible experience and one that was both exhausting and exhilarating!

I’m happy to be back at the shop – and can’t wait to see some of you at our next few workshops.

With Fall drinks comes fall weather and we’re surely moving into winter. Although we’ve been spoiled in Calgary, Alberta with sunny days this October – the forecast is not looking to good.

Spending time outside becomes a little less tempting, but you can stay inside with me and come build some awesome Fall decor! Heck, we might even want to start thinking about Christmas (sorry, but not sorry).

It is that time of the year… isn’t it. For those of you that really don’t want to leave your house, I even have take-and-make kits for purchase!

One thing that helps me get through it is, yes you guessed it, a nice cocktail by the fire at the end of the day.

Cheers!
